OUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND Its Importance in Changing Our Lives

The concept of three levels of the mind is nothing new. Sigmund Freud, the famous Austrian psychologist was probably the first to popularize it into mainstream society as we know it today. Even though his theories have subsequently been widely disputed in Psychology circles because they are very hard to scientifically prove, Freud nonetheless created a useful model of the mind, which he separated into 3 tiers or sections – the conscious mind or ego, the preconscious, and the unconsciousmind.
The best way I have found to illustrate the concept of the three minds is by using a triangle. If you imagine at the very tip of the triangle is your conscious mind. It occupies only a small portion of space at the top, a bit like an iceberg where only a fraction of it is showing above the water. It probably represents about 10% of your brain capacity.
Below this is a slightly larger section that Freud called the preconscious, or what some refer to as the subconscious. It is much larger than the conscious mind and accounts for around 50-60% of your brain capabilities.
The section below this is the unconscious mind. It occupies the whole width of the base of the triangle and fills out the other 30-40% of the triangle. It is vast and deep and largely inaccessible to conscious thought, a bit like the dark depths of the ocean.

How They Work Together
Your conscious mind is what most people associate with who you are, because that is where most people live day to day. But it’s by no means where all the action takes place.
Your conscious mind is a bit like the captain of a ship standing on the bridge giving out orders. In reality it’s the crew in the engine room below deck (the subconscious and the deeper unconscious) that carry out the orders. The captain may be in charge of the ship and give the orders but its the crew that actually guides the ship, all according to what training they had been given over the years to best do so.
The conscious mind communicates to the outside world and the inner self through speech, pictures, writing, physical movement, and thought.
The subconscious mind, on the other hand, is in charge of our recent memories, and is in continuous contact with the resources of the unconscious mind.
The unconscious mind is the storehouse of all memories and past experiences, both those that have been repressed through trauma and those that have simply been consciously forgotten and no longer important to us. It’s from these memories and experiences that our beliefs, habits, and behaviors are formed.
The unconscious constantly communicates with the conscious mind via our subconscious, and is what provides us with the meaning to all our interactions with the world, as filtered through your beliefs and habits. It communicates through feelings, emotions, imagination, sensations, and dreams.

Facts Facts and real life experiences indicate that if you use your subconscious mind effectively, you can greatly influence your self-motivation, will power, and emotional intelligence. Consequently, you lead a healthy and happy life.

• Make subconscious requests: Every night when you go to bed, make requests to your subconscious mind. It can be anything relating to your personal life or professional career. For instance, you can request for daily workout, a new product launch by the end of the year, or a sports car for yourself.
• Visualize yourself in the requested scenario: Once you have made requests, you have to repeatedly imagine yourself in the given scenario every night before sleeping.

• Keep practicing it until your imagination turns into reality. For instance, imagine yourself in the gym early in the morning, planning for marketing plan and creative media strategies, or driving your favorite luxurious sports car.

• Sink into pleasure: During imaginations, also think about the pleasure and contentment that you will attain when your imagination will turn into reality. This is the best part to feel motivated and get down to action.

• Consequently, you will begin to make efforts to achieve your goals. Simply trust in your subconscious mind’s capabilities and resources to make things happen.

The Importance of Meditation

Among the many benefits of meditation is calm and insight. With meditation, you are able to monitor your inner world, recalibrating your thoughts and emotions into a semblance of order, so that it makes sense. You decrease restless and obsessive thinking. You keep things in perspective and so make more accurate judgments. You develop the strength of will to withstand the onslaught of a confusing world. Any anxiety you have, any tension, will be slowly leached away, as you meditate.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-TALK

Our ongoing dialogue with ourselves, whether internal or verbal, has a direct influence on our self-image. Self-talk may not be audible to others, but your nervous system gets the message loud and clear. If you use self-talk to belittle yourself, minimize your achievements, or express doubt in your own abilities, how will that influence your sense of self worth? Obviously, it won’t produce beneficial results.
On the other hand, positive and encouraging self-talk will contribute to feelings of inner strength and self-respect, which will have a very beneficial effect on the way you view yourself and your personal potential.
You replay your internal conversations
Self-talk is like a recording that constantly plays in your mind, and much of the time you are completely unaware of it because it can occur on a subconscious level. Negative internal conversations can have the same side effects as hurtful gossip. If those recorded messages include limiting beliefs from the past, reinforced by derogatory input from the present, the damage gets compounded.
If you are currently the victim of your own negative self-talk then here’s some good news. With a little effort those recorded messages can be erased and replaced with new, more empowering ones. use positive self-talk to change your mental recording and empower yourself.

The function of your subconscious mind is to store and retrieve data. Its job is to ensure that you respond exactly the way you are programmed. Your subconscious mind makes everything you say and do fit a pattern consistent with your self-concept, your “master program.”
Your subconscious mind is subjective. It does not think or reason independently; it merely obeys the commands it receives from your conscious mind. Just as your conscious mind can be thought of as the gardener, planting seeds, your subconscious mind can be thought of as the garden, or fertile soil, in which the seeds germinate and grow.
Your conscious mind commands and your subconscious mind obeys.

Following the above concept, You have to say your self-talk or affirmations in a present tense, as if you have already achieved or , accomplished what you are saying, right now..
